Best for: Outdoor space and beautiful surroundings

What is the best Haven site? One of Haven’s newest parks, it packs a punch with tons of entertainment, set on Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast’s cliffs – enjoy tons of activities at a fantastic price!

Price comparison: £929 for a family of 4 in August 2023

> Search for the latest deals

Facilities:

Step onto the beach and enjoy clear waters in the bays. The local beaches have both sand and pebbles, so instead of just playing in the sand, go rock pooling and see what marine wildlife you can find. As the park is set in such a stunning location, you can head to the cliff tops with views out to sea while enjoying wandering through ancient forests.

In the park, head to the lake to enjoy a spot of fishing or head to the pool for a play. Any water babies will love the pools as it has a fun slide and a paddling pool for smaller ones. They have an Activity Barn packed with activities to fill every schedule, from archery to bike coaching if you have someone who’d love to learn to ride. You can also get involved with table tennis and fencing and learn to ride a segway. Head out on the mysterious adventure trail and explore the nature garden. You can also hire bikes to explore the coast further and learn the old technique of firelighting.

When the adults want a break, but the kids are still craving to play, take a break on the outside terrace of the Lighthouse Bar and Restaurant, which sits opposite a huge sandpit and play area. So you can relax while watching them burn energy.

There is a supermarket open daily on site for anyone who gets hungry where you can stock up on essentials and basics to make a meal or grab a takeaway from Cook’s for fish and chips or The Lighthouse for pizza. There are two other venues for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks to bring in the evening, plus a cafe serving ice cream on the way to the beach. On top of that, there are live shows from the Entertainment Cast and Seaside Squad in the ShowBar entertainment venue planned through the day and night.

While you might enjoy the break from home and work (and YouTube/TikTok etc.), there is free WiFi available in the main complex for anyone who needs to access the internet.

Location: Dorset

Best for: Nature lovers

Rockley Park is a five-star park next to a lake and river with direct beach access, plus woodland and wildlife. Plus, it’s close to Sandbanks Beach.

Price comparison: £925 for a family of four in August 2023

> Search for the latest deals

Facilities:

You’ve got plenty of activities, plus an inside and huge outside pool. Both pools are heated, and there is an outdoor flume and mini SpashZone.

If you want to be a little more active, try the crazy golf, nature trail, arcade, segways, archery, mini sports, arts and crafts, bungee trampolines and the climbing wall! There are four outdoors play areas (a toddler soft play), an all-weather multi-sports court, or go exploring around the woodland. Nature Rockz rangers can show you (well, the kids) the bugs and wildlife.

Cook yourself (there’s a shop on site), or enjoy a takeaway from Papa Johns. There are also a Cook’s Fish and Chips and three other venues for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks in the evening.

And, just as importantly, there is free guest WiFi in the main complex for those who cannot switch off.

The park is next to Ham Common nature reserve, and Poole Harbour and Quay are close for water sports, boat rides and shopping. The park is also dog-friendly.

With everything at Rockley, it’s a strong contender if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to Centre Parcs.

Location: Scotland

Best for: Swimmers of all abilities

Craig Tara Haven hosts Splashaway Bay heated indoor pool, suitable for every generation of guests, including those with reduced mobility.

Price comparison: £710 for a family of four in August 2023

> Search for the latest deals

Facilities:

The Spashaway Bay in Craig Tara are EPIC indoor swimming pools. Instead of one pool, you’ve got lots of different aqua areas. There are multi-levels and multi-lane water slides. Plus, you’ve got flumes, a lazy river, tipping water buckets and water features to play and have fun in. Forget Haven; this is one of the best water parks for family fun in the whole of Scotland!

There’s a Toddler’s Play village and a one-meter-high ropes adventure away from the water so smaller ones can enjoy the aerial experience. If the British weather isn’t great, the all-weather Airspace sports hall is the place to be for activities like mini sports and segways. Or, head to the Lighthouse Harbour Adventure Village, packed with activities and an inflatable obstacle course.

New for 2023, they’ve added tube slides, so you want to whizz down a new parkland in inflatable rings!

And if you want to do something a little quieter, take a walk around the trail of rugged coastline and beaches or tee off on their nine-hole golf course (for adults) or the adventure golf course (for the whole family).

Best for: Toddlers

Haggerston Castle is one of the best holidays for smaller kids and babies due to its facilities.

Price comparison: £678 for a family of four in August 2023

> Search for the latest deals

Facilities:

This is the only of the Haven Parks with its own castle tower! If that’s not enough to impress, there’s an Oodles amusement centre for little ones, and the roads are flat and quiet, which is perfect when kids are learning to ride a bike. However, there is still plenty for older kids to enjoy too.

There’s an aerial adventure course for the thrill seekers where you can climb high platforms and obstacles. There’s a boating lake where you can relax on the water in a pedalo with the family. Then, you can enjoy the nine-hole golf course, outdoor play areas, mini sports, bungee trampoline, tennis court, get creative making slime or painting and go on a bug hunt. Take a swim in the heated indoor pool, with impressive slides for bigger kids (and adults).

Plus, new for 2023, they’ve added a huge Inflatable Arena to burn off more energy!

And, finally, when the kids start to calm down, adults can take advantage of the rooftop bar! If you want more relaxation as an adult, enjoy the serene spa, sauna and steam room (plus gym, if you’ve got the energy).

Then wait for the wave machine to start and enjoy the lazy river. There are also water features and a tots pool and slide, so they don’t miss out.

Being one of Haven’s biggest parks, there’s more than just swimming. Head to Adventure Village, where you can try 4×4 Off-roaders, Aerial Adventure, Segways and more. Or try Dragon Lakes and hire a pedalo. You’ve got arts and crafts, mini-sports, an aerial adventure course, toddlers-friendly activities and multiple play areas.

When you get hungry (and don’t want to cook), you’ve got nine restaurants to choose from and takeout from Papa John’s, Burger King and Millies Cookies.

Location: South Wales

Best for: Beach and water sports lovers

Whether you want to relax on the beach, play in the sand or get involved in water sports, this peaceful setting is perfect for people who love the beach.

Price: £1,537 for a family of four in August 2023

Facilities:

Lydstep Beach is very different from the other Haven Holiday Parks. There are smaller facilities with the entertainment and restaurant combined, and the activity programme is smaller…however, you make up for it in other ways.

The holiday park is more peaceful if you’re looking for more of a relaxing break. Being so close to the beach makes it an excellent spot for a staycation where you can enjoy the sea air.

There is a wide range of water sports activities on the beach, including kayaking. If you want your younger ones to spend more time in the sea, it’s worth looking into the RNLI Water Safety training, where they can learn the basics to keep themselves out of harm’s way. You also have National Park Rangers to guide you around the beautiful area and explore scenic walks and views.

You still get an outdoor play area, sports centre, and an amusement arcade in the park itself. If you want to avoid the salt water from the sea, take a dip in the heated indoor swimming pool. Having said there’s not as much; you’ve also got archery, a climbing wall, mini sports, den building, organised bug hunts, and you can make your own grass head. It’s a dog-friendly holiday park too.

The Haven reviews for this park are also much higher than others, so it gets a mention.

Wild Duck is Haven’s only woodland park, which is excellent for exploring nature in its forest trails and hidden clearings.

Price: £893 for a family of four in August 2023

> Search for the latest deals

Facilities:

The park is packed with all the usual Haven sites favourites set in a beautiful wilderness environment.

As you’ve got woodland all around, hire a bike or multi-seater kart and take advantage of the trails and clearings with the family. If your little ones haven’t mastered bike riding, coaching is also available.

Get involved in den building, going on an organised bug hunt or making creature and nest boxes. If you have a competitive edge, head to the crazy golf, or why not give archery a go? You’ve also got a multi-sports court for football, tennis or even basketball, junior segways, outdoor play areas to burn off steam and a cashless amusement arcade (so you don’t need to pack any pennies)!

And don’t forget the indoor swimming pool and heated outdoor swimming pools, including a multi-lane water slide, where you can swing, splash and play! There are tons of organised entertainment and shows from the Entertainment Cast, Seaside Squad, and live acts throughout the day and evening.

You’ve got a mini-mark on site to stock up your caravan with essentials and meals, or you can pick to eat out with fish and chips, pizza or any meal from one of their other venues.

And, if you do get bored (?!), Great Yarmouth is close by for you to get stuck into the usual seaside fun.
